Today I've had 5 chicks (3-4 months old) just up and die. Some were in the middle of the brooder and some were in the corner. I'm guessing the ones in the corner died do to being cold possibly since it was first thing this morning. But when I found 2 this afternoon in the middle of the brooder dead and missing all their feathers it made me wonder why. The only thing we've changed is putting a few ducks in with them. Could the ducks possibly be killing them and that be why their missing feathers?

It could be many things, they shouldn't require any extra heat at that age and should be outside pecking about, were there any marks on them or were they wet, they could have coccidiosis as ducks can make the ground wet which can be a breeding ground, were they vaccinated or given medicated feed. What are you feeding them now.
