I need some help. i have one of my silkie chick, who is 3 months old, foot kinda looks weird an not normal. It did not look like this last week and now it is. can someone help me with solving this problem and how may I treat it. Im open to any help I can get. I have some pictures as to what it looks like. Both feet feel the same temperature. The chick is walking on the foot and not favoring it at all. It looks like the toe that has feather that go down it, because of the breed it is, is tucked under the other toes. the feathers along the toe are gone.

I was hoping someone with more knowledge about chicken podiatry would have responded by now. So here goes.

First, has this chicken been vaccinated against Marek's?

Since you just noticed this, perhaps it will respond to vitamin therapy. Try giving B-complex and vitamin E 400iu plus selenium, about 25mcg or a crumb of a larger selenium tablet. Pop them right into the beak. Do this each day and let's see if there's any improvement.

The foot looks deformed to me. Maybe the middle toes are "fused" together. The 2 "middle toes" #2 & #3 are rolled underneath. Those bumps are feather shafts.
I'm not a breeder, but I would not breed this bird if that's your plans. @EggSighted4Life may have seen this at some point when she was breeding Silkies and might know the cause.
I don't know of a way to correct it.

I would monitor the area where the feather shafts are, I would think walking on that they may become impacted and infected, but I couldn't say for sure.

Could it be a curled toe?

I would take a guess and say it's something like curled toe - but more of a genetic or developmental deformity.

Of course you have the other foot to compare it to, but for others looking and for you too, here's a "normal" Silkie foot to compare - see how the foot should look. Not sure which of the two toes on your Silkie is curved or fused together, but they should be "spread out".
I'm sorry, but I don't think there is a "fix" for what's going on with yours.
