Chicks hatch today = mommy of the year aware...unintentionally!

I set these at the beginning of the month b/c I simply cannot stand for eggs to go to waste!

We set them (just 4) in the hatching tray the day after I got home from the hospital w/ the babe b/c I could not remember exactly when they went in, but was thinking the 2nd or 3rd.

Yesterday morning, I heard peeps. One hatched. I thought well poo, that's bad. Oh well, we'll deal with another singleton.

The other three hatched today. 100% hatch. Woot! hehe

Why mommy of the year, you ask? Simple...today is DD's birthday. She thinks I did this intentionally so she could have birthday chicks. Do you think I'm going to corect her?

Naw, I feel like I am dropping the ball on so much right now, I'm going to revel in it even if I didn't do it intentionally!

(She also had told me that all she wanted for her birthday was her baby brother. She thinks I deliverd him early just so he could be here for her birthday. Yeah, I'm THAT good!

)

No pics, yet. They are bantam cochins from our birds. We have one blue or splash (not positive, but I think blue) and three either dark blues or blacks. I think blacks, though.

Crap, I set 16 bantam eggs 4 days ago. If I would have thought about it, I would have ran down your way to steal eggs from you. I expect you were probably way to busy to deal with a visiting thief.
