Hi everyone, I am new to the site and I don't currently have any fowl. We are however looking into raising our own chickens very soon. I live in eastern NC where our climate varies quite a bit - from freezing and occasionally snowy during the winter to hot (around 100 degrees without the heat index), muggy, and humid in the summer. My issue is that there is a high possibility we could be moving to southern AZ in the next 6 months. I know the climate there is much different than it is here. Is it possible to even raise chickens in such a hot, dry climate? If so, are there specific breeds that do better in those climates than others? Would it be safe to move chickens from one climate to another - if so, how do I make it possible? I am sorry for all the questions, but we really want to make informed choices on this before jumping into it. Thanks!
