One of them were acting lethargic did have a poopy butt but I cleaned it out but in two days he ended up dying but the others we clean.
They are being feed purina flock rasier but i occasionally see some trying to steal the hens treats- lettuce/citantro
I haven’t, it’s ok to treat them for it even if they might not have coccidiosis? It’s just in case they got it?
So Cute! These are some photos of the chicks- when it comes to poop it’s quite hard to find some but if I manage to find some if post it. About the chirping I’m not sure why, they had full water, food and mom was keeping them under her. She’s showing them food and water and being a decent mom. The one in orange ring is concerning me as it’s not as active as the others
The one that is circled orange, how old is she?
You have a range of 1wk to 3wk old chicks together? I'm just gathering info and ask a lot of questions - I'm not bashing or judging.
The little bugger looks a bit timid.
I'd go ahead and treat for Coccidiosis. I would also make a nice wet mushy mash for the chicks to eat as well. You can use some of the mixed Corid water to make the mash. Just soak a little feed in the water, let is soak up and be mushy.
Sometimes for some reason, tiny ones have a hard time with crumbles at first. Soaked feed can be a bit easier to handle/eat. As they get older, they can go on to eating dry feed if you wish.
The chirping is usually a sign of not happy, something is wrong. Whether cold, hungry, thirsty or something else it can be hard to figure out. See if they are happier with the wet feed.
Do provide a bit of Chick Grit (Crushed Granite) for them too. I'm sure Mama is finding things for them, so she's got them eating a lot of different things.
The Corid will not hurt them even if Coccidiosis is not part of the problem.
Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.
Do not add any extra vitamins/electrolytes that contain B1(Thiamine) to food or water during the course of treatment.
