Chicks Kept Out Of Sight?

Oh no worries! Like I said you gave GOOD advice regardless.

I actually never thought to watch how high the water was raised for new chooks like week olds or so. Thank you either way!

Yep, these girls are doing just find, albiet they are a bit crowded. I wish I could find a bigger container around the house but for right now the 49 gallon rubbermaid will have to do. They aren't pecking each other or anything, but I feel bad they can't go outside until 30 days or so, I wonder how they will be?

I brood my chicks in a separate building. (not in the house) I check on them 3 times a day to clean out their water, check the temp and make sure feed is full. Haven't had any problems. Just make sure your heat lamp is really secure.

ETA: sometimes I'm in there more often, but 3 times is my minimum.

I am brooding my chicks in the garage. I check on them at least twice a day: in the morning before work & in the evening when I get home. I usually check on them again before bed (unless I get home so late that it's almost bedtime). On the weekends I check on the more often, because I have fun watching them. They do get shavings in the waterer, but most of the time it seems like they can drink around it.
