So emergency here... we have -30° temps and five of my 8 eight week old chicks have had their legs frozen SOLID. Getting stuck in things, unable to curl toes, when they hit stuff it sounds like ice.
Left the other 4 who roost regularly and did fine. They and my 5 adults are under 2 heat lamps. My adult roost has a stiff comb but it's not solid, I put vaseline on and left him under a heat lamp.
Brought the chicks inside garage... they are eating and drinking but what do I do now? How can I save them and their legs?

O.M.G. Sorry to frighten you, but I think this is a serious emergency. I think they need to be thawed slowly.

So far they are doing okay. I picked one up and gently pinched and bent (carefully) the toes, she flinched when I pinched so it seems the nerves aren't damaged at least on the one... I caught it just in time on them... They were moving around when I found them, and now, they are limping around, drinking and eating well.

Only one in the area, she doesn't treat birds. I am on my own for now. So far they seem to be improving, my main concern is nerve damage.
I would say thaw their legs... slowly. Then keep them inside for about a week to avoid infection and they should be good to put back in the run
