You wouldn't necessarily know it to look at them, but chickens can be pretty tough birds.

Thanks for the update. When we participate on a thread such as this one that began with such immediate urgency, we get pretty emotionally invested in the outcome. It's so rewarding to see a good ending.
 
So far they are doing okay. I picked one up and gently pinched and bent (carefully) the toes, she flinched when I pinched so it seems the nerves aren't damaged at least on the one... I caught it just in time on them... They were moving around when I found them, and now, they are limping around, drinking and eating well.
If their legs / feet have frostbite the worst thing you can do if rub them or touch the affected areas..it causes more damage. Good luck!

You're welcome. It's been such a busy week. Frostbite, a pregnant dog that hasn't had her puppies, and now a fox!
