It's a good idea to treat for shock. Electrolytes in the drinking water plus a bit of sugar. Gatoraid fits the bill.

Wow, what a crazy story. Those "hot tub" pictures are just adorable. I will remove that splint, make sure the chick is healed, and give all chicks a nice epsom salt soak.
