Chicks not drying out

Hi all! I'm new here!
We have 18 in the bator. 7 hatched and running around wreaking havoc! Our first pipped 36 hours ago but did not do much more- still moving but not a lit of progress. Then another pipped and zipped within 30 minutes. She was wild!! She rolled the first pipper over upside down and I just pulled it out after waiting 24 hours to find that she drowned. Anyway, now I am worried They will hurt the others too but they just aren't fully fluffed. Even the one who's been hatched for over 24 hours still has a damp looking back. Humidity is at 60 right now which is lower than it has been...been more 70%. There are 11 eggs left and we are at day 22.

They won't fully fluff bc the incubator is humid.

You should remove them ASAP unless you have other eggs that are pipped or zipped.

Ok i was reading that you shouldn't take them out because they could get chilled.

I always do and just put them right under the lamp and they are fine

Just make sure they aren't shivering in the brooder. After 3 hours after hatch I remove mine regardless of how dry they are.

As long as no other chicks are still hatching you can take them out and they will fluff up. They just need to be in a warm area that is not as humid as the incubator.

Wait till you are sure the hatch has finished, then take them out. If you take them out bfore it can harmfully affect the unhatched chicks that have internally pipped

You could take them out if you are desperate, but try to cover all openings and gaps there will be when you open the lid with a warm, damp towel.

The heat lamp in the brooder will dry them out

70% humidity is to high.

Last hatch I did was around 55% 65% humidity.
