Chicks outside??

Thank you @needlessjunk
My 3 week old chicks graduated from the inside brooder w/ the feather duster mom to the outside coop w/ the broody bucket. hole drilled about the size of a pencil, fabric is polar fleece, next time I will make longer strips, they are short this time b/c I was planning of filling the bucket w/ straw, which they keep scratching out.

Mine seem to like it out the coop, but sometimes they peep at night or huddle, if they are cold what is a good way to warm them? preferably without electricity.
My neighbour was saying she used to fill empty vinegar jugs with warmer water and laid it on it's side the chicks could huddle around for warmth. She also says she used the jugs but froze them in the summer and put them in coop on the really hot summer days

Keep in mind I'm in Arizona so that would be winter time for us. So what I've done with mine if they had to be outside is, I might have a little heating pad on LOW underneath a thick towel and only in one part of their box, that you know it's an area that stays dry and covered, free from a lot of drafts; in that way they can choose if they need to be warmer, they can go over and lay by the covered heating pad. If they don't need the heat they can stay on the other side of the box or container. This is what I've tried. I don't know if others would do this or not but hopefully that can be useful to you!

Thanks! I ordered it and received it today. Put it in the coop, the chicks are avoiding it and want to sleep together in the other corner. I'm taking it that they aren't so cold they really need it. They're 5 weeks today. Nighttime temps are right around 50F. I'm going to let them spend the night out there tonight. *Crossing fingers*

I am planning on put mine out this weekend . they are 6 weeks old and feathered.. I live in S Central Pa and the weather has been in the low 80's during the day and 50's at night. they will have an enclosed area at night. do you think I still need to put a heat lamp on them. I have them on an enclosed porch and have not been using any heat with them for about a week now.
mine went out at 5 weeks at those temps and did fine. I wouldn't risk a lamp.

Here in TX, I am not worried about them getting cold. I am worried about them getting picked or pecked by the other 2(1year olds)
