We have 6 week old chicks and today got 7 (2wk old) more. After being together for a couple hours, the younger ones began pecking the tail feathers out of the older ones to the point of drawing blood.
We have separated them now and isolated the 2 bloody bottom girls. But now, I am not sure what is our next step.
Thanks for your help!

Can you tell us a bit more about the brooder (dimensions, heat source used, number of feed/water stations) and the process you used in introducing the new chicks to the existing brood?

We put them together in our brooder while we went to build the bigger brooder. This was an unexpected addition. I understand they were probably stressed from overcrowding. I just want to know what to do now. As in how do I help to heal the babies and work toward putting them back together.
Thanks.
