My 2 chicks have been eating Purina Starter/Grower since I got them.
Yesterday I was at Tractor Supply and bought a small bag of Dumor Chick Starter because of the lower price and being supposedly made by Purina.
My chicks outright refused to eat Dumor.
I still had some Purina left over and they ran over to it and ate it happily.

Yeah my chicks seemed to prefer Purina way more over Dumor. I wonder what is different between the two that makes them favor Purina over Dumor.
I just smelled the Dumor and Purina chick feed.
I can definitely smell the difference.
Dumor smells sour and almost chlorine like.
Purina smells nice and bready, which is very inviting.
I think chicks can smell this too and taste the difference.

I always thought the Dumor smelled pretty good ( for chicken food, lol).
I always read that Purina is the manufacturer of Dumor.
I’ll have to try the Purina, I guess.

I've used Purina, Dumor and Manna Pro, and they all smell different. Purina and Manna Pro smell similar to each other - it's a very tasty smell, like bread. Dumor has a very strong, distinct, chemical smell I can't quite place. It doesn't smell like food. I wouldn't at all be surprised if the chicks can smell that, too. My chickens eat the Dumor just fine, but I'm switching back to Purina just because the strong chemical smell of Dumor sketches me out.

Yeah I agree, Dumor has a weird chemical sour smell to it. It sketched me out too.
I will stick to Purina because my chicks love it and it smells nice.
