Chicks

You would need a broody hen. If you can't maintain the correct temperature and humidity throughout the entire incubation period, the egg won't develop, or if it does, it will have some abnormalities that will affect viability. Incubation should not be attempted unless you can provide correct hatching parameters.

You would need a broody hen, or you can make an incubator. Look up some ideas to make one. But don't just follow those instructions that tell you to put the eggs on a towel, cover them with a washcloth, and put a heat lamp over it. Those are not incubators and do NOT work!!!

Thanks! Would you know why my egg-laying hen is loosing weight?

That question has many answers. There are lots of reasons why a hen would lose weight, some answers are that disease may be the cause, while other reasons are that it's due to a natural process such as sitting on eggs and having her metabolism lowered causing weight loss. Molting also causes some hens to lose weight. Both of these do not involve disease but are part of the natural processes hens are involved in from time to time.

To figure out why your hen is losing weight, you need to observe her behavior and physical appearance. Those will provide clues that may help point to the cause in her individual case.

Well it has been going for a while and some times it seems like it was getting worse.
