Hi! I'm new to chickens, and my fiancé and I bought 5 chicks. We build a brooder, and 4 of the chicks are doing really well. The 5th (Pequito) is smaller than the other chicks and has been the lethargic the past 2 days. Today he isn't eating or drinking water and is staying close to the heater. I fed him sugar water by hand and it seemed to help a little, but there are no visible signs he's sick. No runny eyes or nose. No pasty butt. He also has a hard white dot on the end of his nose. Any suggestions/experience would be greatly appreciated.

Jump right in and make yourself at home.
Nutri Drench is a good product to have on hand for chicks like this.

Sorry to hear little Pequito isn't doing well. Here's a link to take you to the ER forum:

Give as many details as you can and a photo to help them give you the best response.

Best of luck!

@KikisGirls beat be to it...Nutri- Drench is excellent. I use it all the time with a sickly chick. Without a pic, the white spot sounds like it's the "hatching tooth", that's what's on the end of the beak, cuts the membrane and cracks the egg shell, called pipping! Will disappear in a day or two after hatching.
