Victor eyed her with a confident smirk, responding "Oh you're the best friend in the whole world. The absolute best."

Iris nodded at Priam's answer, a bit surprised at Atalanta's interjection. She then turned to Prism once again, thoroughly confused. She responded to Priam "I guess I'll take your word for it." She smirked at Atalanta for good measure, just joking of course.

Claire saw a friend enter the room and said a quiet "See you later" and left.

"I try to be," Lucy said, tossing her hair over her shoulder as she smirked at him.

Atalanta glanced up just long enough to see Claire leave, then turned her attention back to her brother. "Next time, wake me, would ya? I'd like to see the beach with you. And you can come along too, Iris," she said cheerfully.

Alexis made a sound of dismay as she shot him a challenging glare. "Seems the teacher got bested. But not anymore, mister," she laughed.

"Both, I suppose," Haley mused. And therein lay the problem. He was special to Ryker as well, which meant Ryker would always have the advantage over him.

"I like a good challenge," Allen stated, giving her a wide smile.

"Easy girl, it's just one point, not the game. Your teaching is still in question. " Dimitri replied with humor. "

Dyrus scented Haley's conflicted emotions. "Talk to me. Your scent just changed, why?" He asked candidly.

" Good because I love, that you love a challenge. If that even makes sense. " Ashton stated in good humor. She just enjoyed Allen's personally so much.

Dyrus scented Haley's conflicted emotions. "Talk to me. Your scent just changed, why?" He asked candidly.

Haley loosened her grip on him in order to look into his eyes. "You're the best at what you do, for which I'm proud of you and far from holding a grudge for. But how can we do us completely, if there's always the hovering notion that you, or even I, could be called away at a moment's notice for Ryker?" She stared hard at him, searching his eyes for emotions he was hard to let show elsewhere. "Despite what's happened in the past, I'm grateful to the man for what I've been given here. But there's no getting out when you want it. We're his for life."

But how can we do us completely, if there's always the hovering notion that you, or even I, could be called away at a moment's notice for Ryker?" She stared hard at him, searching his eyes for emotions he was hard to let show elsewhere. "Despite what's happened in the past, I'm grateful to the man for what I've been given here. But there's no getting out when you want it. We're his for life."

If anything, I have more reasons to fight for our future together. We'll make this work, we'll make us work. Of that, I have no doubts. I'll always come back to you Haley. No matter if I'm sent to the farthest reaches of the earth, my homecoming to you, will get me through any hardships I must endure." He said with conviction.

"Wonderful! Then nothing will get lost in translation." Ashton said with humor as they reached ground level. "I have a secret cave in hide out in, care to see it? It's very homey and fully stocked with all the amenities anyone could want. Even Gideon doesn't know of its existence." She boasted proudly.

I just never thought it was for me to have or even experience so profoundly." He replied honestly.

"I fear we've become too wrapped up in conversation that we've missed the sunset," she said, running her fingers lightly up the side of his face as she looked from one eye to the other.

Dimitri just grunted at that, already lost to focus on the game. His competitive nature demanded he win.

Dyrus smirked unabashedly at Haley's attentions, "What is the draw of a distant sunset, when I have the up close gravitational pull of you upon my full attention Haley. Fear not, there'll be other sunsets and even yet more sunrises too. I do not lament it's passing, just the loss of its light upon your loveliness. " He replied quietly as he moved in to taste her kiss fully again.

Ashton smiled as he opened the door and hurried down the stairs to the earthen chamber of the wine cellar. She went to the far wall that was made of cut stone. She paused before she pulled on a levered sconce to slide the door free, before turning to look to Allen. "Ryker felt remorse for making me so toxic and ultimately doomed to always be alone. So he engineered Gideon for me. The Adam to his deadly Eve, so to speak. We grew up with our togetherness as playmates. So imagine my shock when my first kiss was met with indifference. It's not Gideon's fault, really. It's just who he turned out to be. So there you have it, the truth and the secret of our close friendship." She told Allen with a dramatic whisper.
