Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

( Yes, you did. Very interesting history. Poor Laurel. Also I noticed cutiechook1's character isn't on it. :) )
Razeth opened his eyes to look to Laurel. Not threatening in any way, just devoid of empathy.

"Or you both would be gone. Have you thought of it that way?" Andorra countered quietly.

(Thank you! I like to know my characters well. And yeah, haven't finished it yet.)
Laurel was not looking to Razeth for empathy; she no longer depended on anyone but herself. She had learned to guard her heart in this way many years ago. Before she had stopped doing so those she trusted only treated her soul as if it were nothing more than a play thing, except for her mother. But she died, and it seemed to Laurel there was no one left deserving of her love. So no matter what hardship, whether physical or mental, Laurel chose to endure it on her own. But no matter how quiet she kept, she could not keep her eyes from reflecting the secrets of her heart.

Cyra her eyes as she interlized Andorra's words. "No, I hadnt." She admitted.

( :) )
Razeth saw the reflection of his own sorrow in Laurel's eyes. He moved before he realized what he'd intended to do. But stared at his hand with confused curiosity, almost as if it was someone else's, as it reached out to hold hers. He then blinked as he looked back to her gaze, unsure of why he'd done it.
~~~
Andorra sat quietly and rubbed Cyra's back soothingly. He couldn't imagine losing a loved one in such a way. Never seeing them again was completely different. At least she knew they were alive and well.
At first Laurel withheld her hand from his, but the pain pressed her to do something she wouldn't have done otherwise. When she opened her eyes again in a fleeting, pain-less moment she saw her hand in his, unsure what to think. She kept herself from recoiling at his touch, as had become instinct by her father's actions. But their was a certain warmth that passed through her, and somehow calmed her when they touched.
(I can only keep up with one character for now, maybe not even that, with hurricane Matthew. Will do my best to reply within the next few days, depends on wifi.)
( Yikes!! You just stay safe. Real life first! Okay? We'll be here when it's over. :hugs )
Razeth squeezed her hand gently and whispered almost silently, "I'm here."
Alexis rolled her eyes upon hearing the dim wit's laughter. She hurried round a corner before anyone else could interrupt her exploring, and found herself across from a partly open door. She cocked her head to better hear what voices were in the hall. Some sounded like they were getting closer. On an impulse, she stepped into the room and closed the door behind her.
It took a minute before Alexis found a light switch. When she switched it on, the light revealed what was in a class room, empty of people but quite full of desks and chairs. She was glad she hadn't tried to explore the room in the dark, but even with the light it was dim. She made her way around the maze of desks over to the whiteboard that covered nearly the entire far wall. The discovery of a cupful of dry erase markers brought a smile to her face. "Let's see what we can do with this," she muttered as she uncapped one and examined it to see if it was dry.
After several minutes of silence except for the squeak of the marker on the board, Alexis recapped the marker and returned it to its cup.
(Stay safe! I hope that you don't get hit too badly)
(Hey @Run Wild, if you don't mind me asking, what state are you in? Just wondering because you mentioned the hurricane)
