Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

"It's not from the lab," Haley assured her. "There's a new smell. Not really woodsy, if you know what I mean." She hesitated a moment before stepping out of the safety of the water and walking a few feet away from Amaryllis. "I think there's a cabin up ahead," she said pointing off to the distance.

Amaryllis cautiously stepped from the water to stand beside Haley. "I see it." She smiled excitedly at what appeared to be their only refuge.

Razeth looked to Laurel and noticed her awkwardness. He frowned at that and stood up to go across the cell to lean aginst the wall. "So, how did it go? Did you learn anything useful? " He asked to fill the strained silence.

(Oh, okay. )
Derick and company followed Aralyn to the trunk and stood expectantly there, as Leverett unlocked it for them. Once the identity of the target was confirmed, he nodded to his companions to retrieve the general from the trunk. "Wonderful! I'm relieved this mission went without incident." He said.

Leverett smiled and dipped his head in appreciation. "Yes, as am I. Especially after the security of the airport. We work well as a team sir." He said graciously. He looked to Aralyn and smirked slightly.

Laurel dipped her head at the question. "No. Actually, Madison decided against training when she found out I hadn't been given more medicine for the pain of my surgery earlier this morning." She admitted quietly, she didn't want to hide her secrets from Razeth any longer, yet was still afraid to be herself since that had been her nature since childhood.

Aralyn raised her eyebrows at Leverett questionly; wanting him to admit she had done most of the work, but rolled her eyes at his last statement.

"Well aren't you just one for confusion," Alexis laughed softly. "If clémentines are oranges, what are midnight grapes? Can they just be called grapes?"

Dimitri nodded slightly. "Yes, I believe they could. But yet nobody ever does. I've see them advertised as black grapes though. So that makes red, green and black grapes. " He said thoughtfully.

"Ahh," Alexis sighed in realization. "Black grapes, midnight grapes, same thing! That makes sense. Midnight grapes must be good then, because I've eaten black grapes and you tell me they're the same."

"We don't have many choices," Amaryllis stated, looking thoughtfully up the hill. "And we're running out of daylight.
"Well then, I suppose we should look into it," Haley said quietly. She was hesitant to go, and with good reason, but Amaryllis was right. Night was fast approaching, and she probably wasn't the only one of the two not eager to spend the night in another tree.

Amaryllis remained close to Haley's side as they approached the cabin, wanting to give them both the assurance that neither were in it alone. As she felt herself become frightened she turned to Haley with a warm smile, glad to have a friend, at last.

Haley glanced over her shoulder, nervous with the thought that someone may surprise them from the side or behind. A light could be seen faintly through the curtained window, meaning someone was, or had been, in the cabin recently. Haley took a deep breath before rapping gently on the door with her knuckles. She took a step back to survey the cabin while she waited.

(Do you want play the owner? Or do you want me to do it?)
