Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Haley gave up and returned the box to the front pocket. "Let's just keep moving, I guess," she said quietly. The dark didn't bother her much, thanks to overdoses of unwanted feline DNA, but she knew Amaryllis was having enough trouble keeping up as it was. "The sooner we get there the better," she said in a lighter tone, trying to sound positive for her friend's sake, but really thinking it could be worse once they arrived.

"Alright," Amaryllis replied a little shakily. She was nervous, but trusted in the words of her friend. She pushed ahead without complaint.

Laurel's cheeks blossomed bright pink, and she immediately turned away, becoming shy. "Thank you." She spoke softly as she again met his gaze.

Aralyn avoided Leverett's gaze as she eagerly let herself out of the vehicle. After slamming the door behind her she walked a short distance to a place where the landscape met with a broad river that stretched across the hotizon. Looking over her shouldet to make sure no one besides Leverett was watching, she let herself fall into the water without resurfacing. She then shifted into her mermaid form, allowing the water ease the pain of her transformation.

Aneurin tensed as his father approached, but stood his ground. Keeping contact with Ryker, he came to the conclusion that he was at his mercy. Anuerin had avoided arming himself, since it would be obvious if he did so as that was unusual; he had no way of protecting himself except by his own physical strength. "What is it that you want, Ryker? I doubt you came all this way to state the obvious. Or, atleast, what become obvious after your state of oblivion.."

(NickyKnack, did you see these?)

Alexis had been joking at her earlier suggestion about inquiring of the cook, and she had been joking a minute ago when Dimitri mentioned asking the cook for the grapes. But he seemed totally serious about it, so she stood to get her backpack. "Sure, if you want," she agreed cheerfully.

Dimitri stood up and smiled pleasantly. He'd started out joking, but had found a conviction he hadn’t realized was there until Alexis had given light to it. "You know, if negotiations go south, I can always ponce on the head cook. I'm very good at that." He replied honestly.

(*Snort* Your signature is hilarious! :lau I can imagine her saying that. :gig )

Razeth smiled and dipped his head, "It's just the truth." He said with appreciation.

Leverett got out of the car and ran to the bridge. He felt terrible that something he'd said could have pushed Aralyn to jump off the bridge. His heart was heavy with concern, until he saw a flash of tail fin. He then whispered, "Mon Dieu, she is a mermaid."

Alexis snorted at his comment. "You can pounce, but then we surely won't get grapes and dessert," she stated.

( XD )

(Totally understood. BYC is a way for me to relax after stressing over Chinese language exams, parties, and celebrations that have piled up on me this last weak ;) )
"The truth is," Laurel began more boldly, "is that your very handsome. And I regret waiting so long to tell you." She then flashed a broader smile.

(Time skip to when they meet again at Lord Laboratories?)
Aralyn found peace that could only be found when she made contact with water. She became weak when separated from water, she felt this weakness a few moments ago, but when she rose from the water after the long journey back to Lord Laboratory she felt herself regaining the strength she once knew.

Haley was becoming increasingly more weary, both in mind and in body, as an hour went by. She was preparing to suggest they just settle down where they were for the night when she spotted lights not too far to their left. "Look, over there," she said suddenly, pointing towards what she was sure was a building.
