As for Anuerin, a single coping mechanism can't get us all through here," she added, wincing slightly at his choice of words. "I needed something to focus on; a reason to keep going. He provided that. It was naive but necessary, and as far as I know, one sided. I hope you don't think me insincere in us, because honestly, I'm entirely over any thoughts of him."

Dyrus stared at Haley for a long moment, as he processed that information. It was all he'd hoped for and more. He blinked rapidly before replying, "I'm relieved and very glad to hear those words from your lips. For the utterance of such a statement, I had doubted I'd ever hear. "

Zaine glanced up, and, spotting Andorra, headed towards her for once. Dimitri was right; he needed to do something for Donella, rather than just stare and stutter when he crossed paths with her.

Andorra cursed mentally as Zaine had noticed her. Resigned the inevitable, she put on her best effort of a genuine smile. A bit lopsided and less then sincere. "Oh, hey Zaine. Funny finding you here. Say, have you crush anyone's spirit in the past several hours?" She said before she could stop herself.

"I think I'll require a few practice rounds before we play for keeps." Dimitri replied uncertainly, as he took the knobs in hand and played with the movements.

Dyrus stared at Haley for a long moment, as he processed that information. It was all he'd hoped for and more. He blinked rapidly before replying, "I'm relieved and very glad to hear those words from your lips. For the utterance of such a statement, I had doubted I'd ever hear. "

"Take all you want," Alexis said generously. Smiling smugly, she then added, "You're gonna need it."

Haley allowed herself a small smile as he stared. It was driving her crazy, sitting across from him in a public room where she couldn't help but be concerned they would be noticed. She looked from him to the evening light through the window and an idea struck her. "Come with me," she said softly, beckoning him to follow as she got up to leave.

Alexis turned her focus to the ball, tapping it lightly between her own side just to tease Dimitri. "Oh this'll be great fun," she said with a smile.

Haley headed for the stairs, which she then took two at a time to get to the second floor faster. She glanced over her shoulder occasionally to make sure Dyrus was still there as she headed down the hall.

"What??" Zaine stared confusedly at her. "Why would I do that??" He asked.

( Thanks! I fortunately remember the sunscreen. So I'm not as red as a lobster. I hope you get to feeling better. Aloe vera gel is supposed to work really good on sunburn. Somebody told me mustard works too. )
That only served to hasten Vasper's pace. Something wasn't right. He looked to her with concern as he waited on the elevator. He'd have taken the stairs, but was afraid the jostling would cause more harm with the small amount of time saved.

Amaryllis moaned in discomfort, burying her head in Vasper's chest thinking somehow he might be able to ease her pain. Her heart was raging, and Amaryllis realized the attack was more intense than usual.

Priam made his way through the line, rather quickly, having made his decision of what he wanted to eat before stepping in line. With a full plate and glass of tea, he moved to the side to search the room for Atalanta.
