Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

"Atalanta has decided that she'd fancy something to eat," Priam called out. He smirked at his sister as he said so, knowing full well she'd dislike the blame shift.
Atalanta nudged him in the stomach but didn't say anything.

Lucy shook her head. "No, it's fine," she said quietly. She picked at the remaining food on her plate before pushing it away. "It's just, true. That's what we are: killers. And yet, we're locked away from the world. It won't bode well; it never does. If you lock up a killer, you only increase their reasons to kill, and when they do get out...Well, you'll have Hades to pay."
Iris called out and started walking towards them, shouting out "That means you and I won!"

Victor listened to her, caring about the words that came out of her mouth. She was right, even though it was sad. Victor tried comforting her by softly placing his hand on hers, replying in a hushed voice "We might be killers, but there's also good in us. We still have feelings. Like when we played tag yesterday. We were just being kids and having fun. We didn't want to hurt anyone. Or when you let me borrow your books. If you were a true killer you wouldn't have shared, so that you could keep all the resources for yourself and grown in knowledge whilst I didn't. And what about all the times you've smiled, I've smiled? We've enjoyed in each other's company even though we might just seem like killers. The other always view the monster as a beast who wants nothing but blood, but most of the time they don't even realize the monster has feelings."

Asa stiffened in preparation of the jet's take off, but the jolt of the wheels as they pushed off the ground was more subtle than usual, causing his stomach to feel less sick.
Elliot opened the newspaper and began reading the story, sighing softly at the death of many. It was a long read for an article: three pages. Well, at least he would have some form of literature to read. But whenever Asa spoke up, it would be time to set it aside.

"I struggle with that myself," Anuerin said quietly in transparency, "remembering that when people inquire of your past or remind you of a memory, that they're trying to understand you better; to relate with you. They don't understand that I don't want my character to judged by my past actions."
Nova nodded then gave him a sad smile "Right, our past helped shape us, but it isn't what either of us wants to focus on." She agreed softly. "Have you settled things with your sister and father, I mean, are you free to like go out around the island?"

Zoe waited for the plane to level off and the fasten seatbelt sign to blink off before relaxing enough to look over to Asa.

"It's a truce," Priam stated, splaying his palms outward as a sign of surrender.
Atalanta chuckled at the two of them. "Or, if a truce won't satisfy, we can simply put a pause until next time," she suggested.

Lucy shook her head once more. "Yes, we've smiled, yes, we've laughed and shared, but killers do, too," she insisted. She pulled her hand away as she moved to stand. "Killer...We were given that label the minute we set foot in the danged laboratories. It's there, and it's there to stay." Whether he liked it or not, that was the fact of the matter. They were named killers. And the worst part, she sensed, was that she didn't actually mind. She stalked away, dropping her tray off by the trash cans before hastily exiting the cafeteria.

Iris smirked, responding "I'm taking that as a win for me." She added in a less competitive tone, "But this was fun. I would be up for this another day."

Victor turned as she walked away, clearly distressed. He didn't want to upset her, but he let her go. He was confident that they didn't have to be killers, and that most of them weren't. He stood up and headed to his room. He would try to write some poems, he was now inspired from his former conversation.
(Do the kids have free on the weekends?)

"Amaryllis, yes. But as for my father we haven't discussed whether I'm allowed to roam the island." Anuerin replied with a deep breath. "He's says that he will try harder to be my father, but I don't know how he will have time for me."

"He does have a lot going on" Nova said, frowning in thought. "From what I know of him he often gets lost in thought and loses track of time, but maybe we can help him? That could give him the extra time, if he realizes we are old enough to take some responsibility here and take some of the load off of him so he can have more family time?"

"Thank you, my kindhearted sister. I know just the song to play for you." Andorra said a bit emotional.
Donella smiled and sat up again. "I can't wait to hear it, but if you are going to class, you might want to head that way soon. I can get the dishes then go hide out in my room."
