Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Elijah waited a moment after Roan left before getting up and exiting the room. He quietly closed the door behind him and looked both ways down the hall before shifting. He then padded quietly down the hall to the left. Red pandas were not known for their speed so it was unlikely that he could outrun anyone like this. But he could climb well, and at least in this form few people knew who he was. He headed down a hall that he had passed many times but never ventured down. He knew it was little used as it was in a section of the school that was mostly abandoned. Also the dust gathering on some of the doors spoke volumes. He wasn't sure what he would find or better yet what he was looking for but he headed down anyways.

Liam considered this as he watched her from his seat. He finished drying himself and leaned back on the bench. "Well some of those little things might not seem big to you but could play an important role in something bigger. Never underestimate what he has planned, that is for sure. As for the rest, some of Rykers men cast a very big shadow and I know you know who I am talking about. If you play to your unique strengths you won't be in their shadows much longer. I can put in a good word for you, however it may do little in your favor." He replied eyed her as he spoke, he suspected she had it in her to do what he suggested if she hadn't done such already. Ryker had many assets he could call on, it wasn't a surprise that some got overlooked for others.
Samantha held his gaze while he spoke. His words surprised her, once again. She'd clarified that he was an odd one, certainly, but he wasn't dumb. That was good; she couldn't abide dumb people. "That would be great," she said. She had no idea what he planned on saying, or that he was cozy enough with Ryker to get a meaningful word in, but it couldn't hurt anything by asking—hopefully.

Donella looked to her again and offered a tiny smile. "Well, we didn't argue at least."
Andorra returned her smile and rested her hand on her friends shoulder. "That's true. But the tension is so thick, I could cut it with a butter knife." Andorra said with some consideration. Why did things have to be so difficult? By things, she of course ment Zaine.

Layla was sleeping, although much like always it was lite. She had never been a heavy sleeper, and since her changes she was always ready, for anything. As such when she felt the bed move slightly she jolted awake. She extended her claws and moved to use them until she saw that it was just Leverett. She slowed and moved her hands back to her lap as she glanced around the room to make sure there were no threats. "Sorry, force of habit. Are you ok, did you need something?" She asked worriedly.
Leverett smiled despite himself. She was a force to be reckoned with. He then assured Layla, "No need to apologize, you are following your training. I'm fine, really. Thank you for taking such good care of me and protecting me." He said in fairly good humor. Fortunately his pain was a dull ache at the moment.

Liam nodded, "Great I will mention it next time I see him. It may make little difference, but it won't have a negative impact. Or it shouldn't, I will be as tactful as I can. Unless you change your mind just let me know. " He headed to the edge of the pool and held out his hand for her if she wanted to get out.

Donella smiled and leaned against Andorra a little "I don't know how to change that. How can you stop the tension?"

Layla slid her claws back into her hands and gave him a small smile. She was glad he was in good spirits despite everything that had happened to him. "Of course. You are my only friend and you nearly died. So I will protect you for as long as needed. In fact its likely you will get tired of me by the time this is over." She said with a touch of a smile as she reached out and took his hand. She had a feeling she was being a bit overbearing but she felt responsible and she was going to see this through. Of course if he asked her to leave she would, for a while anyways. She scanned his features to see if he was telling the truth about being fine, if he was in pain she would know it.

Donella smiled and leaned against Andorra a little "I don't know how to change that. How can you stop the tension?"
Andorra grinned widely as she offered humorously, "I could beat the tension out of that pompous owl for you. It may even tenderizing him a bit." She licked her lips for show, as if she was seriously contemplating eating him.

Donella laughed and shook her head at that. It was funny in a way, but she was glad nothing would come from that though.

"Thanks," Sam said, giving him somewhat of a smile. She wasn't a smiler, or used to people offering things free of charge—but that was, she admitted to herself, probably her fault for not interacting with others more. She glanced from his hand to his eyes, confused for a moment before she realized what he meant by it. "Thanks again," she said, accepting the boost as she pushed herself up. She stepped away quickly to grab a towel from the shelves nearby and tossed it around her shoulders, shaking the water from her hair as she did so.
