Quote: I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER RIDE ENGLISH! Well other then when im working with my boss's racers
yeah, her parents describe me as "courageous" on horseback, which basically means "don't get near her she will get you killed" XD. Switching to english was not my smartest move, lol.
yeah, it's been a trip, lol. It is so much different from my barrel saddle, although the dressage training as really helped my horse and my self to harmonize. (he has a pretty bad background of poor training. He was broke bronco style at 12, but wasn't gelded till he was ten. They put a curb bit with five inch Shanks and a twisted chain through his mouth. I would go to his previous owners barn to ride, and he would have blood dripping from his mouth from the bit... But they wondered why he was so mean.)I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER RIDE ENGLISH! Oh all my braking is natural, i don't normally use a bit i like hackamore'sGood, that's how a shanked bit is supposed to be used. Not the way they used jitterbug. They gave him NO training, and just yanked him around by his mouth. A bit is an aid, not the sole method of control. It was just sad, they didn't know how to work with hot horses. Now he rides in a D ring snaffle. I may not be a big fan of the saddle, but English training methods work.
Oh gosh... So many funny chicken stories to choose from!
