To clarify about the frogs I released, they were definitely bullfrogs, and the pond they are in is in an area that is surrounded by saltwater marshland, it's in a historic home that is isolated, and the pond has high stone walls around it so there's very little chance of them escaping. There are already plenty of bullfrogs in the NE. Before I put them in the pond there were only little peepers in there, the odds of some other bullfrog appearing in this pond are highly unlikely so I believe it's the ones I rescued. They have a pretty good lifespan. They are killed for food by having their legs chopped off and being left to die, I'm happy to have saved a few from a horrible fate.

Italy has the same kind of public toilets. Italian train station restrooms are not for the faint of heart. These are the things that the tour books leave out.

France, too. Some are worse than that by a long shot.

Seriously, travel IS educational - it teaches you how good you have it at home.​
