my best suggestion is to find some people who have the breeds you are considering and meet/play with the dogs several times. Where do you live? you can PM me if you want for privacy.

Ok, nevermind. Saw Israel. Ok.......harder than I thought.........is there anyone who has nekkie's around you can meet?

There are several Crested breeders who show but I would have to import if I want an AHT. I'm going to be planning a visit to a Crested place soon.

I have the powderpuff version of the Chinese Crested. They are very lovable and friendly. I compete in agility, but not with them. At least mine don't seem as smart as my papillons and canaan and heeler, but they are athletic. They are happy little dogs, just seem happy happy happy all the time. Yes, mine "talk" and sometimes howl as well. Health wise mine have all been okay. I wouldn't trust them loose around my chickens or other small animals, I think they would chase. With the powderpuff, grooming is important, their coat can tangle. I have no problems with them around kids or other people. Sweet dogs!

Funny, mine I trust absolutley with my chickens. I have a good flock rooster, and when I get a new dog or pup, the roo puts the fear of God into the dog. Thereafter, the dog will not even make eye contact with said chickens, or the rooster. but they can o in barn, be outside with the flock, etc. but the dogs pretend the chickens dont exist, and they move out of the way if the chickens come through. too funny!

Also, there are a few people that I know that do agility with thier CC's. they are wonderful at it......have thier titles and everything.

Zoe likes to scatter the chickens, but she doesn't really chase them, and I have chicks in the house fairly regularly (4 right now) and she could care less. She's around quite a few different animals w/ no problems, I don't let her go in w/ the goats though because they go after her! She's just under 10lbs.

So I bought Can Ch Altair's West Coast Swing or "Wesley"!!!!
I am so excited to get him. He is coming from Ontario, through Penn to Newark & then here to Israel. I had to set up a whole network to get him here so he wont be shipped at all, only traveling with breeders & then flying with a dog judge! He has won Best of Breed in every show he has entered in Canada & his only American show, he won both his classes! Without further ado, I give you Wesley:

No Way! Lucky you! I saw him at the ACC Nationals. Nice looking puppy! You are going to have so much fun with him. Are you going to do anything with him (show, agility, etc. ) or "just" have him as a pet? Good for you.

I will show him, do agility & breed him. I might eat him if he does behave-in true Chinese Crested historical tradition (KIDDING!)
Now I need to find an AHT rescue to ship with him.
