Ummmm....Ummmmmm.. the little cream colored eggs are bantam frizzled Cochins. The rest are eggs from Muggsmaggee's flock, including some silver Ameraucana, and a bunch of "designer" eggs from nice mixes. There's BCMs, Buff Ameraucanas, Split Lavender Ameraucanas, White Orpingtons, first generation OEs, and first generation EEs.
gryeyes, I am excited to see what you get out of those mixed eggs. I am thinking of getting a batch from her maybe for Easter Hatch. She has lots of neat mixes. Hey, when you put them in the egg carton like that do they stay pretty well when the turner goes so steep. I have always done egg cartons, but have never tried it during the turning phase with my new Brinsea. So do they ever almost fall out??
There's a little bit of a shift, but not much. It's why I put the smaller bantam eggs by themselves outside of the carton, instead of using two 12-egg cartons for the whole thing.
I set just one dozen LF eggs in a carton in another Octagon20 and I'm noticing the carton slides around, so I may get off my butt and go put some rails in there to hold it in one place.
When I add water next time I will get a picture of my super dooper packed Brinsea. I fit 33 eggs in there!
I staked 6 on top and am using rolled up wax paper to keep them in place. I figure when I candle I will take out enough top put them all where they are supposed to go. I am quite proud of myself for fitting that many in there.
