16 out of 25 eggs went into lockdown. I actually did a quick candle and just removed the clear ones. However, I didn't see ANY blood rings or nasty images, just 16 "full," dark eggs and the 9 clear ones.

That was a lot for me to candle, so I didn't take the time to look for movement.

Put 15 in lock down. My air cells are all over th eplace. from small to big. Can't figure that out. We will see in few days what we get.

Crap. Now I'm anxious. This is the first time I've ever candled at lockdown, honestly. I usually just let everybody go into lockdown and those that don't hatch, oh well.

Don't make me start THINKING about this as an actual process other than sheer, dumb luck I get ANYthing to hatch!

I wanted to add that miracles DO occur. My humidity is at 55%.

I have 9 in there, but need to lockdown about 4 for tomorrow. I think I may lock those down early. Never did that before, maybe it will help.

Been either sick or running all day.

Anyway I have 48 Marans eggs to hatch out. Was going to have sowngrow (Karen) hatch them out for me, but I just don't have time to run them out there.

Besides, I'm tired of horrible hatches and these were not shipped eggs, so I feel better.

And I have a few of those roller coaster eggs too. I've had them before when shipped. Some hatch, some don't.

Bought the girls some higher protein feed today and some fresh veggies (last summers garden died), and I'm giving them the chicken soup and pot pie talks. I met a couple who had gone to the Stockton show and they were so surprised when I said I had BCMs and want to buy chicks. I really need to get things moving here so I can make a little money for the bills. Then I talked to a man that said if I'd breed sexlinks he'd buy them all from me. another man will buy up to 200 quail at $3 a piece from me every 6 weeks. Only had bobwhite when I was a teenager, so have to learn them over, plus. Now I have to figure out how to make this work and not have landlords made at me. I had a dream I sold so many birds I bought land and built a house. LOL Feed money would be good, but I really need to figure out how to make more, so we can at least be able to stay alive. But it was a crazy day and I hope it gets crazier if this is what crazy is.

I wish I hadn't lost all of my quail to whatever it was. Oh and I got a used, 2 sided quail pen for 5 bucks at the auction! It was setup with a light, but the wires were cut off, so I have to figure all this out..
