No kidding this waiting is killing me.

I lock mine down tonight (it's only 1 pm here on the West Coast) and I will candle SOME of them first. That's just the way I do it... Most of them will go into lockdown because of that habit, but that's okay with me. I just don't like to be disappointed early, if that makes any sense at all....

And I leave eggs in until day 25, just in case.

My week long house guest left today, which is perfect, so I can spend more time obsessing over the eggs, and spending time with the chickens. Whew!

I am kind of with you guys! I have a hatch date of February 2nd and the waiting is killing me! I am so nervous about having a bad hatch again. Even with my conditions being perfect this whole hatch, and everything looking great at last candle...I still can help but be nervous and scared!

lol I hope they are a day ahead, they are stressing me by not moving or cheeping. Not that I should be worried yet but... you know!

No problem! Egg's out of the fridge, so no development obviously.. I just grabbed it to see what I can see. I look forward to setting a few later on and seeing what I can see then! Forgive my photography skills.

One of those will be coming home with me next trip the the hardware store if they carry them!
I'm amazed! It's not even dark in those pics, I always end up candling near midnight just so the torch is the only light in the house.

Not to sound like a complete newbie but I am so nervous!!! When will I see the eggs start moving? I am on day 19 and this is the first hatch I have had where my incubator has remained constant in temp and humidity PLUS for the first time I saw movement when I candled last (last night).

I am just so nervous about not seeing and moving eggs or hearing any chirps!!

You may or may not see movement or hear chirps. Sometimes they are sneaky and you won't know anything is going on until you see that first pip. when you start seeing little chips come off a spot on the egg then you will get excited! Sometimes right before they pip, they will chirp away and you should be able to hear it. I hope you have an incubator full of chirps and rocking eggs so you can see what it all is like.
