Chinese New Year Hatch/February 3 2011

Eggs are in lockdown and the aircells aren't all too scary.

Started with 22 at set and locked down 9.

Some are iffy and some just tooooo dark, so not sure what I was seeing.

I've crossed anything I can cross.

Locked down last night before bed.

I candled for the last time and am hopeful, although this is my first time so not entirely sure about what i'm looking at. Out of 18 at the start I have 12 still in the bator, one of which looks too small to me, but i'm crossing my fingers and left it in. so final count; 6 choc orpington bantams, 3 or 4 lemon pyle brahmas and 2 light sussex.

I am trying very hard not to think about the humidity - my hydrometer is not the most accurate but it suggests the humidity here has been over 50% throughout. (and I had added no water to the bator) judging by the candling pictures on the forum help pages though I think i'm doing ok.

Now i just have to distract myself for the next few days, the tension is terrible. I've never been a very patient person.

Well it's day 21 for me tomorrow. Hoping for pips before I go to bed like the first time.

I locked down 5 wrigglers which isn't bad considering I was sure the temp spike killed all but one or two of them.
I've been fighting with temp during lockdown though. Yesterday was 104, today was 106f and 108f forecast for tomorrow.

I'm over this hot weather!!! Come on chickies

EDIT: Checked the chart and I'm a day ahead of myself, tomorrow is day 20, not 21
