Weird day today.
I had a dentist appointment this morning and then I picked Makayla up from my daughter. We found a sale at two stores. Everything was $4. I'm cheap, spent $8.
Then she walked me into a store and I waited while she found clothes for her and her daughter (this grand daughter is 12, tall and skinny and hard to buy for) and while I looked around I found a great area.
BOOTS! 7 bucks! I have big feet and those go first, but found 2 pairs, so I got $90 in boots for 14 bucks! Sorry I have a thing about shoes and haven't indulged in a long time, so had to share. LOL
Anyway I knew I was supposed to do something and go somewhere important, but could not figure out what it could be. Did my usual school pickup and went to get gas for the rest of the week. I came home, made dinner, cooked for the birds (it's all cooling) and did a little cleaning (very little) and sat down. Send a couple of pms and then remembered where I wanted to go. TJ'S!!!!!!!!! I didn't go get the eggs! I had this hatch on the brain, plus the day it was and still trying to reach my daughter about her surgery tomorrow and I knew I wanted to get at least a dozen eggs. What a ding bat!
Anyway, thanks to MuranoFarms and Warden, I have eggs! OH the colors! So right now I have 22 and if I can get to TJ's in the morning (unless i forget AGAIN) I will hopefully have 12 more.
Since my brain isn't working I need some help.
I calibrated 2 hygrometers and when I went to write down what was reading I wrote a totally different number for one and by the time I realized it it had a whole different reading. Doesn't matter I have 3 and tossed that one and another in earlier, so I'll worry about them if I need them.
The acurite read 68% so I'm 7% off. What I need help with is I need someone to remind me once in a while. LOL I'm writing the difference on a piece of tape and tape it to the thermometer, so I see it, but just in case, h e l p.
OK so I need a 100% hatch to make up for the 100% flop. I want perfect #s. I usually keep at between 35 and 40% on days 1-18, then 65-70% through the end. I still get stuck or drowned chicks or both.
I'm reading 23 (30) right now, but not going to bring it up until I get some input. Remember I'm off 7%. What should I bring it up to? This was so much easier when Bill was alive! That man and number and efficency help when my mind couldn't get it together. If I remember from back when I had pretty good hatches I think I kept it at 40% and 70% at lockdown. Then I started reading and seeing other people numbers and I can't remember for sure if those were my numbers. Wish I could find one of my old schedules.
OK...............help those of us who had the last bummer hatches get 100% this time.
I'm just thinking if I try it someone elses way I might actually get to take some pics this time. hmmm that would basically be what I have been doing, but if the numbers from my last hatch (using that losely) were wrong, someone tell me.
