chinese or african goose? + questions

i adopted this guy just a few days ago and was wondering if he is an african or chinese goose. all i know is that he is a gander and he needed a home after his owner died. also he is constantly calling for someone or something, his owner has been dead for 3 years and has never been with other geese yet he is calling until he starts to loose his voice any ideas on how to get him more comfortable with the change or a reason why this is happening? gave him a pond which is probably the first time in at least 3 years since he has seen one, made him real happy but it froze in about an hour.
he will have 2 MUCH bigger ponds once they thaw.
ps that is not thier coop, just my old quail/ chick pen.
