First time incubator here.
Sorry, the pic stinks. It does show the small (4mm) chip in the egg and
absolutely shows the dry droplets of glue that look like albumin which
have liberally appeared over the shell surface.

The bator has taken an odor that is SLIGHT and not entirely unpleasant,
but definitely different than last week.
Because of porous shells, candling is a serious challenge for me.
It is very difficult to see definition of dark masses inside the eggs.

If it were me, I would toss the egg. Could be it is rotting. It should not ooze any substance, and when you start to smell an odor, that is not a good sign. Better to toss it than have it explode in your bator, and make a mess....just my opinion. Hopefully you get some more responses....

absolutely, throw that thing as far as you can. I had a few like that in my last batch. check them all because a week after I tossed the cracked ones another exploded in the incubator. The whole batch was bad.

I just discarded another--similar expelling of small quantities of liquid.
I opened them both over a compost pile and they each ran out like water.
Thanks for great advice, all.

did you happen to get your eggs off ebay? I got dozen BR eggs too 6 weeks ago off ebay and none hatched and most were rotten and smelled it within 2 days in the bator. One actually exploded in the 2nd week. Just wondering if they might have come from the same seller.

no.

i received a baker's dozen.
i am down to a pair of eggs.
eleven hit the compost pile.
i feel practiced now at the art of identifying clinkers.
i was worried that a couple might break open to reveal embryos.
all were rotten with no signs of life beyond a streak of blood inside one.
i am grateful that one of them is clearly developing and moving inside the shell.
it's air sack is appropriately-sized for its 13th day -- amazing to see.
we may end up with an indoor chicken that wears panties [kidding].
i am hoping for the best.

Same thing here just got thru first hatched had 2 eggs just like that rotten, put in a bowl set the bowl outside not even 1 min I heard a pop noise went outside eww, nasty rotten egg smell.
