I checked on my birds tonight and noticed my Brahma hen has a small chip and tiny crack in her beak. Is there anything I can do? Has anyone dealt with this before?

Thanks in advance!

If it's small and not bleeding, it will grow out just fine. Even if it was cracked so far that it was bleeding a little, they do heal up. If it didn't reach the quick or the bone, it won't hurt and is like your finger nail. If it is cracked through to the quick or the bone though, it is very painful, in which really you can't do much anyways. Doesn't sound too bad though so nothing to worry about.

If the chip is on the end of the beak, use nail clippers and the finger nail file to even it up with the other beak. If the beak is split or cracked from front to back or back to front, use super glue on it to hold it solid. Just a small amount should do. Check on it periododically (sic).
