I just filled the trays and turned the turner off and I heard babies chirping!! Is this normal?

Thanks!

I have 10 out of 28 babies so far with several pipped! This is much better than my last hatch. Temps spiked to 118 on day 18 when I removed the turner. I was ready this time!!

Congrats and keep us updated!

Thanks. I am having trouble getting the temp to go back up after removing the turner. The humidity is also giving me probs. I have 3 sponges and the reservoirs are full and its still at 60%. Grrrr

I know the feeling! 60 is not horrible, but 67% is better. The room its in may be a bit dry. I had filled my reservoirs and a cup and still no luck. So I took tissue or paper towels soaked in warm-hot water and stuffed them down the vent till they dropped. I was able to get it perfect by adding a little bit at a time.

Thats the best suggestion I have for that situation.

Well, I am having a hard time with it too. I can't get it past 40%- I filled the reservoirs, and it read 37%, so I added a cup of water- and it says 40%..honestly, it is very stressful.

Wow! I'm gonna do that!! I was worried about the ability to keep papertowels damp, that's the perfect idea! Thanks!!! Steph

my friend Kelly told me that, she is the one who got me into the chicken-goat-hobby farm business!
I use it everytime!

Thanks! After adding another sponge, I have it steady at 73%. One of the sponges is a spongemop refill, lol! I have 3 that are pipped already, just little dents in the shell so far. I am kinda worried about them being so early. I set them after noon on the 8th.
