This was our only one to hatch! He/she is eating and drinking fine. I think we figured it out tonight. We are not welcome in the living room after dark! All must be dark and quiet! Ugh, gonna be a long couple of months of that!

Temp in the brooder 90 - 95? You might give her a little stuffed animal and a mirror. I've heard that chicks like to snuggle under a feather duster. Reminds them of Mom! Can you hang one for her?

We put the stuffed animal in, and mirror, and Sunshine doesn't seem to care too much. I am putting a small blanket in there today. When I take him out, he stops and falls asleep on me! Should I put in a small perch? Temp is 85. I can't sit here and hold him/her all day every day, but I know Sunshine is lonely

Is there any way you can get her a friend? Perhaps ask on your state thread? When does TSC start getting chicks in Mass? If the chick does not learn to socialize early, it may never learn the art of being part of a flock.

my tsc won't get them until end of Feb beginning March. he/she has stopped doing the "car alarm" chirping! phew!

While I waited for my singleton's friend, I had my lone chick nap on my chest when I was on the computer. And we had a see thru Rubbermaid storage thing and put it on the dining room table. So she did well prior to getting the roomies.

we gave Sunshine a stuffed animal and blanket. he seemed to enjoy it when the cats would visit him at the cage! haha! we take him out a lot! he's a tad more active now though! just put a small wooden box in to see if he will roost!
