I give my birds our leftovers....we have nutella and cream cheese on whole wheat that I am staring at....my kiddo dropped his on the ground

there is chocolate in the spread....should I just chuck it to the compost? They will fight on any given day for the kids pb&j leftovers so if its not terrible for them I would give it seeing as though theres not a high level of the nutella spread to start with...

just as long as chocolate doesn't kill birds...that would be a sad sad day here..I am leaning towards not just "in case" unless someone here has and all was O.K. afterwords

Chocolate is also very bad for birds. I don't know how much a chicken would need to eat, for it to be a problem.

In this case, it sounds like a smaller amount of chocolate would be mixed in with a lot of other ingredients. If it's also being eaten by a bunch of adult chickens, it doesn't sound like they'd be getting much actual chocolate, per chicken.
