I know not to give chocolate to dogs and parrots what but what about just one chocolate donut for 13 chickens? I have this stale chocolate donut that I know they will love but would it be dangerous for them to eat it? I know, not so healthy but darn it all, them chooks will eat ANYTHING!

Chocolate doughnut, lizard, decomposed something found while foraging. They'll eat it.

Some people raise their chickens like pets who will be around forever and a day. Some people raise them as livestock. Some people raise them as small farm animal and therefore they are entitled to anything left from the kitchen - including the meat and veggie scraps and anything else edible but finished with by us humans.

Okay, this sort of answers my question that I posted a few minutes ago. And that is, is it safe to feed the chickens the feed that the mice have been into? I found a dead mouse in it as well... rotting. If they would find this stuff anyway while they are out free ranging (and mine are), I don't have to throw this feed out?

Since mice and rats are disease carriers you have 2 options -

1. Throw it out.

2. Cook it for the chickens - after removing the dead mice. High temps should kill most germs.
