Hi,
I just got my female chocolate lab puppy (Roxy) about a week ago. She was the runt in the litter. She weighs around 8 pounds and is 9 weeks old. I heard that runts can get the size of an average labrodor too. Is this true?
She also has white on her chest and feet. The owner said the white would go away. What do you all think?

Sometimes runts stay smaller and sometimes they don't. Same with the white hair, usually they disappear, but not always, especially if they aren't purebred, or well bred, but I'm not a lab expert.

You definitely need to share some cute puppy pictures.

I have seen runts grow into full sized dogs and then also seen them stay a bit smaller.

By the time they are adults the fact that it was a runt is rarely a factor. They are just as great as the full size litter mates.

:wee PUPPY!!!

Congratulations on your new puppy!
Start teaching her immediately, use positive training methods and feed her an excellent quality grain free food and she will grow to her full potential.

Sometimes those white spots stay, sometimes they don't. By the time you find out it won't matter anymore because she will be a very loved part of your family.
Best wishes for a long and happy life with your new best friend.
