AKA Dark Brown Leghorns. Are they really genetically "chocolate" like other breeds?

No. Never heard of them being called Chocolate Leghorns either.

Dark Browns carry mahogany, like true/heritage Rhode Island Reds. That's one of the things that make them so dark brownish red in appearance.

[IMG] I know. I was just wondering about the genetics of the color though. I found pics of the hens elsewhere- so different than the light brown ones.
