I am getting out of the breeding side for a while folks...

The project has been started and there are some adult females I've been breeding all year as well as some split males in the mix. The breeding group is for sale at this point.

I kept a handful but am down to a split roo and a single Chocolate hen after a horrible fox attack a couple of weeks ago. I'm praying she starts laying again soon!!

Anyone breeding for Chocolate Marans now?

Actually we have, but it won't be available for some time, maybe two or more years, as we want to get the egg color and body conformation right before we do and make sure that it continues in future generations. We never even realized this idea had been bounced around already, but as an earlier post said, we though a chocolate chicken that lay chocolate eggs would be pretty awesome.

I got a chocolate pullet from a pair of French black copper marans. Can I breed her back or if I get a chocolate roo can I breed them and get chocolate marans. TIA
