I've got this chocolate Orpington bantam cockerel I'm trying to rehome. Here's a photo of him from many months ago. I'll post a more recent photo later. I just have too many boys right now. I hatched him April 26, 2020 so he's not quite a rooster yet.

His name is Hershel.

We are located in Vallejo.

I'm not quite ready to go to the extreme of shipping him (mostly because I don't know how), but I may in the future. For now, I'm willing to deliver him within the SF Bay Area, although I'd certainly prefer to have him picked up (in Vallejo, CA).

Aw... THANKS! :jumpy
I hope so, too. He's looking for some ladies to protect. And even though he's a bantam, he's pretty hefty. So he'd probably do fine with a standard-sized flock. If I get to the point where I'm willing and able to ship him, I'll check in with you.

Thanks again!

Hello fellow Vallejo BYC friend,

I had a similar issue trying to rehome a rooster back in November and I know how difficult it was trying to find a taker. We ended up taking ours back to the breeder and they exchanged it for a pullet.
A friend of mine told me that George’s feed store in Fairfield may take chickens. I don’t know if this is accurate. You may want to try and see.
The other place you can try would be the funky chicken rescue in Vacaville. My rooster was a pretty common breed and they were full back in November, but it can’t hurt to try. Good luck with your rooster.
