*Chocolate Orpington Thread*

I totally just joined the chocolate orp club. I had no interest in the breed, but I went to pick up some others at my breeder, and her birds were just TOO GORGEOUS, and she had one that had just hatched. She's pretty darn cute.

Hello,
Joining the thread because I just got a Chocolate cockerel, 2 hens and a pullet and a Dun pullet. I already know I am going love them. I got a Jubilee and 2 unusually colored pullets, for my layer pen, last year. They are calm birds and great layers.
What would you call the color of this pullet? The breeder has project pens of Cuckoo colors.

I refer to her as my leopard print hen. Is she a Dun Cuckoo maybe?

I've been in England recently, and saw a lot of photos of Orpingtons, but haven't ever heard of a Dun color. From your photo, it's almost like a chocolate-laced blue

, which I've never heard of. Maybe you have a new breed going!

These two cockerels seem to be feathering in quite differently, both in color and volume of feather...I am trying to decide which to keep and wondered if I could make my decision now or if I should wait???? I prefer the little guy on the bottom, overall, but perhaps it's too soon...

this is another image of the more feathered out dude...out of the sun...

I can wait for several months...but if someone were to decide they wanted to buy one now...I would at least like to know I was keeping the better of the two...

tough question at this point. Maybe you could have someone on a waiting list to take the one you decide to sell. Chocolate orps aren't that common.

I just got three LF chocolates and I am having trouble determining the gender of one of them also. I have a very obvious cockrel and a very obvious pullet and one that is tricky lol is thst common with this color of orps?
