Chocolate projects?

Nice..

all you need now is to introduce Dilute or cream to have that nice contrast of chocolate and lemon hackles and saddle like the Late Dr. Carefoot had in his project..

Beautiful birds everyone! Anyone know where I could find some birds with the chocolate gene - pure chocolates, mutts or carriers?

There's been Chocolate bantams for auction on other sites a lot as well as the occasional LF Chocolate Orps.

I love the Chocolate color. I have a few projects but nothing chocolate. I figure once they get more popular in the US and some of the genetics are worked out more I will definately add chocolates to my list. Price-wise I am hoping that I can afford the chocolate project

I would prefer something a little more on the cheaper end. Maybe someone will have some cheaper chocolate carrying males someday soon?

Here are some of my favorite chocolate chicks, all Serama's. I hope to have enough to breed chocolate to chocolate and to cross with good blacks next spring. I only have one chocolate cockerel so far and he has red leakage. I hope using him with some black, bantam Araucana hens will help to improve the chocolate cockerels. My original chocolate hen died this summer. She was oversized and I'm actually hoping some of her chicks I hatched this summer will be larger as well.

My first chocolate was a hen I named Truffles. Her mate was my rooster T-Roo who is split for chocolate and they produced several chocolates for me.

Here is one of my favorite chocolate chicks, a mottled pullet

My only chocolate cockerel, he was so dark. He's still dark but has red leakage here and there. You can see the difference next to the black chick.

My only Frizzle, a pullet I think. She comes from a breeder who raises chocolate Frizzled Serama's.
