I have a chocolate turkey hen and tom that I got from some people locally that have turkeys and chickens but definitely would not be considered "breeders". Both the hen and tom are all brown and look typical for the breed. I got them last year as young poults. This year was her first year laying. I hatched a bunch and then let her sit on some and hatch her own. Most of the poults that hatched have some white feathers. I have read where chocolate turkey poults can have some white feathers when young but then when they get their adult plumage they will be all brown. Mine seem to have a lot of white. I can't remember what the parents looked like as young poults. Was wondering if some people that raise chocolate turkeys and have chocolate turkeys from real reputable breeders if the white on my poults is typical or if these are either barnyard mixes or somebody trying to rescue the critically endanger chocolate turkey breed and these have a lot of genetics from other breeds that were bred with some chocolate turkeys.
