Choosing a breed!! Help

I'm looking for a friendly chicken breed for egg production and I would love a colorful basket? Any suggestions I was thinking maybe an Amerucauna

Easter Eggers... they'll lay better than the Ameraucana and cost far less to obtain.

(Note that many feed stores will mislabel EEs as Ameraucana, Americana, etc - if you are not buying from a reputable breeder it's almost always an EE.)

I'd have to agree with @rosemarythyme and say most definitely Easter Eggers! They are not only what I believe to be absolutely beautiful, but their eggs are too! I have 6 chickens and 4 of them are Easter Eggers and I love them to death and they are SO sweet and docile.

Cream Legbar, Marans, Welsummer, EE's, and I think Brahma eggs are so pretty, mine have always looked a bit pinkish.
