Doris the slightly dim cuckoo silkie went broody a few days ago. Today my neighbour dropped me off these 6 Faverolle (salmon I think) eggs she got for me from her uncle! I only asked for 3 as I'm picking up 6 others tomorrow and 9 seems an OK number for my silkies size so I'll have to eat the others :D

How should I choose which ones to put under Doris and which ones to put in an omelette?

Eeeny, meeny, miney, mo!! It wont make a hill of beans of difference. You cant tell which are fertilized and which not unless you incubate any way. In fact it might be a good idea to crack one open and check fertilization.

I did think that - particularly after my last lot where 4 of the 9 weren't fertile! Apparently the rooster is always with them so I'm hoping it is OK! OK I'll pick the cleanest / whitest biggest ones :D
