I did a lot of research while trying to find the bible version I wanted to read, and after comparing the different versions I chose the KJV. Most of the newer versions have omitted verses and passages entirely, and the way the verses are worded can change the meaning to something completely different. I'm not trying to start a debate, just to comment on some of the stuff I discovered.
For example, several passages in the newer versions have changed Jesus' title from "THE Son of God" to "A son of God". Anyone with half a brain knows that He is "THE", not "A". That makes a big difference especially if viewing in light of new age and more liberal views of the Bible. There are other verses that refer to Him as "The One", which is NOT His title. "The One" refers not to God, but to someone who has attained "god-hood". The only time He is referred to as "The One" is if there is some adjective following: "The One True God" etc.
I dunno, just some food for thought. I'm not saying that the KJV is without typographical errors, or whatever, all I'm saying is that based in comparison to the other translations I've read the newer translations remove and water down references that are very important, and other verses are reworded to come across as something entirely different.
Now, this is something I've often thought about: do u think Jesus was disappointed that He had to come to earth before Taco Bell and McDonald's were around? What about BBQ sauce??? And do u all think there's BBQ and steak in heaven???
