Christmas 2014 Hatch-a-Long (12-25-14)

Quick update on my oddly-timed eggs: I have one that pretty much looks like it's going to hatch within like 2 days. I wanna say I saw it just barely move (inside of the egg) a couple times but I'm not sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me. The middle one is roughly 12 days along,.bouncing away inside of it's egg. The youngest egg still has just a black spot, no spider veins. I'll wait a few more days. If I find no veins, I guess it's a dud.

At this point, I will be happy if I get just one chick. But the lady I got the eggs from said she has some eggs that are due to hatch a couple days after Christmas so I may just have to pick out a few of those as well

First chick hatched this morning!

The chick was already hatched when I woke up this morning and starting to dry and fluff out. A second egg is pipped! Yeah!
We are on day 20. Anyone else in lockdown?

Two external pips as of this morning so far. So been watching them pick at the shell lol today is going on Day 19. Will be very interesting to see which one makes it out first now, I'm taking bets in the kitchen with the kids lol. I was thinking my little Silkie was going to be first but it's a race between my son's mixed bantam and my wife's Ameraucana. Yay I can't wait lol I'll take some pictures as soon as I see some fuzz. I'm on lock down and I'm freaking out, this is my first hatch and only shot at this, I could mess up. I need to do something about my nerves, they are killing me.

The little chick has been chirping its encouragement to the others all morning. With a couple brief pauses for a nap.

In the bottom pic you can see the second pipped egg.
