Christmas in October block Swap

The rest of the photos are by the group, we are only allowed to post one a week . Some serious talent in the group!
Sunny with big black clouds,66F and wind speed of 19mph. This was meant to be a pool party, I recon about 10 mins and they will be out!!
It's not a grand pool, it's an above ground one from ebay. When we knew the weather was not going to be wonderful my husband booked a bouncy castle so hopefully that will keep them busy!

Well I think you are a great photographer! You are right in there with them!
Is it always so cool there this time of year? There will be a lot of blue lips and shivering bodies!

Maybe a bonfire would be better! Make smores! Ah, they are kids, they will stay warm and have a blast! They will get in the bouncy castle and forget the coolness! How old is your son and are they just getting out of school?

They are now having a war! The only thing in the pool is a turtle!
My son is 12, not in this picture, I'll get him later!
And yes this is a typical English summer!
And what are smores?

They look like they are having a great time! Wow! 66 degrees is cool here for summer. We are going to get in the mid 90's here today. Hot and humid, We've had a very cool, rainy summer so far, so these temps are going to feel very hot! It is typically is in the 80-90's here. Been in 60's-70's with lots and lots of rain!
Smores are what we call a graham cracker spread with peanut butter and a piece of chocolate hershey candy bar. You roast a marshmallow over fire and then when it is ready to fall off the stick, mush it between 2 graham crackers with the peanut butter and candy. Yummm! We make them quite often. They are called S'mores like in " I want some more"!

Also, that has to be the biggest square hay bale I've ever seen!! Our square bales are about 1/4-1/2 the size! We have the great big round bales too.
Just wanted to comment on the other shop I was going to go look at the Janome today. Was on their website and found they are having a BIG sale on floor models and sealed box machines, as one of their shops is moving, so all their stores are selling the sale price. Was very excited! I call the store I was going to, they were out of the Skyline, and only one of the stores had any left. So I called them and they only had one left. I asked if it was on sale, (50% - 60% off advertised). He was going to let me buy it over the phone w/credit card. He told me the msrp was $1499. It had been $2000 6 months ago and the manufacturer had dropped cost. So that is their sale!! That is not 50%-60% off! I told him no. I'm going to call the other place and see if that is her bottom lowest price. If not, I am still going to get it there. She has lay-a-way. I can't bring it home, but if I start going there on Fridays to work on projects, I will be using it there. I will be the only one to use it. Hopefully, I can take one of my paychecks and pay on it each month. That's the plan anyway. So I'm off to call her! I'm very excited!!

New sewing machines are always exciting, and such a nice one, even better! Congrats.

Rosie, those boys look like they are having a blast.

I've heard about smores all my life, when I was young my Gma would never have let me eat such "garbage" food (food value wise) (her words not mine) I think I need to find some GF graham crackers and try them.

We did get to eat "banana splits" for breakfast though. Split a banana in 2 lengthwise, spread w/ softened peanut butter (we had to soften b/c we always got the natural kind, we would put the peanuts in the machine at the healthfood store ourselves and catch the peanut butter in the tub) spoon yogurt over that, sprinkle w/ granola and top w/ a cherry. It is awesome stuff, still eat it today.

Oh those sound amazing! I'm the health food guru, but my kids not so much! They bring the smores fixin's and I might eat one or just the roasted marshmallow. We have a small healthfood store in our town, but nothing to make your own peanut butter! I bet whole foods might though, but I never get there.

Yes! I'm very excited about the new sewing machine. A little more than I wanted to pay, but it will be the last one I have to buy, hopefully! It really is a nice machine.

I get the Smuckers peanut butter now, w/ the oil on top, only ingredients are peanuts and salt, can't stand "regular" pb, but I get it for Gary. I haven't seen a peanut butter grinder in health food stores in quite a while.

I buy earth balance pb. It is natural pb and flaxseed sweetened with agave syrup. It is really good. Crunchy or smooth. No stirring. It is in the health food section of our local Kroger store. Do they have Krogers in your area?
