Today the kids and I went to York . My daughter had met a boy on the Internet and they wanted to meet for the first time, I had great reservations but it was fine, he was a really nice lad and had both his mother AND father with him!

I'm glad your trip turned out so well, you can feel relieved about your daughter for a bit. I still worry about my daughters and granddaughters no matter what but that is just me.
I love your photos, did you get one you can use for you class this week?
I has always amazed me that the old timbered houses have lasted this long. Are these the ruins of a church or abby?

You all have been very busy on here love the pics and all of the wonderful info on your excursions. Thanks for sharing, and @fenrosie I can not believe the boys got in the pool, did they turn blue lol, I don't go in the water unless it is close to 80F I hate cold water course that goes back to growing up in Dubai. Even the ocean was like getting into a warm bath.

Well I put the first payment on my new janome skyline s5 sewing machine!! Now only, well several, payments left!!

Can't wait to use it again. I'm going there on Friday and they are going to show me the best way to cut my crown and thorns Christmas quilt block! Then on the 31st the owner is going to show us how to make a stack and whack quilt! I think I called it something else in an earlier post. It is a triangle set on point to look like a kaleidoscope. Looking forward to that. They are so helpful and friendly there. I will post pics when as they are available. The shop is called Creations Sewclever Quilt Shop in Chillicothe, OH, if you would like to check out their website. I like to see different shops and how they are set up.

I've done several "stack and whack" you will love it.

If the bias thing is scary you can do it w/ 4 repeats and squares, looks almost as good.
